Man dies after car hits wall

A person has died following a road accident at the Woodbourne Hotel in Douglas this afternoon (Friday).

Police say a blue Rover struck the wall of the building in Brunswick Road at about 1pm.

The driver of the car and a passenger were taken to Noble's Hospital where one of them, a man, was pronounced dead.

The road was closed for more than two hours while police conducted enquiries at the scene.

They would like to anyone who was in the area of Alexander Drive or Brunswick Road at the time of the incident.

Anybody with information is asked to ring Police Headquarters in Douglas on 631212.
