The husband of former Isle of Man resident Joanna Brown has lost his appeal over the sentence he received for murdering her.
The British Airways captain appealed against the 26-year sentence he was given for killing his estranged wife and burying her body.
Robert Brown, 47, was at the Court of Appeal in London today (Thursday) to hear the decision by a panel of three judges, headed by the Lord Chief Justice.
Brown beat 46-year-old Joanna to death with a hammer in Berkshire last year before dumping her in a makeshift coffin in Windsor Great Park.
Brown was acquitted of murder but had previously admitted manslaughter by reason of diminished responsibility. He was also convicted of obstructing a coroner.
He was sentenced to 26 years in jail at Reading Crown Court in May, after his trial heard he had killed Joanna because he felt he had been cheated by a prenuptial agreement.
At appeal, the three judges heard Brown believed his sentence was 'too high', but the prosecution told the hearing it wasn’t manifestly excessive.
The court will give its reasons in writing at a date to be fixed.
