'Time for action on LegCo', says former MLC

A former member of the Legislative Council who is now an MHK says it's about time something was done to make the upper chamber popularly elected.

Yesterday (Tuesday) in the House of Keys, Ramsey MHK Leonard Singer won backing for his suggestion a committee should look into the provisions of a bill introduced by David Callister MLC.

Those new laws would see LegCo elected by the public, rather than by MHKs.

Mr Singer says the saga has been running for years, but now is the time for action:
