MHK disappointed by erosion stance

Michael MHK Alf Cannan has accused Environment Minister Phil Gawne of 'abandoning people to their fate' on the northwest coast of the Isle of Man.

In the House of Keys yesterday (Tuesday), he asked for more details about how much land was being lost to erosion each year, describing it as 'a serious problem'.

Mr Gawne said there were no plans to have a public consultation on the issue because there was no government cash to build any coastal protection.
