TWO stars of the TT3D Closer to the Edge film will be signing copies of the DVD and Blu-Ray version when it is launched on Monday (November 28).
The film was a hit with critics and the public alike on the big screen and both TT podium man Conor Cummins and TT winner Richard 'Milky' Quayle will be at HMV in the Strand Shopping Centre, Douglas, to sign copies from 5pm. The shop will stay open until 6.30pm.
Closer to the Edge, which will be released in Blu-Ray 3D, Blu-Ray and standard DVD formats, will also be available from other outlets including Duke.
Economic Development Minister John Shimmin MHK said: "What a fantastic achievement this has been for the Isle of Man.
"This is the film that everyone said was impossible to make and yet here we are with a major success on our hands.
"The amount of positive media exposure TT3D has generated for the Isle of Man cannot be overestimated and will benefit the Island for many years to come."
Legendary commentator Murray Walker said: "Closer to the Edge captures the history, the drama, the humour and most of all, the humanity of this unique event.
"Watching this film, for me, was a very moving and humbling experience."
The film, narrated by Hollywood star Jared Leto, received four star reviews from Empire and Total Film magazines, while MCN's Gary Pinchin believes "the film is an honest representation of what the TT is all about. It pulls no punches, it's a story about the enduring strength of the human spirit and the will to win."
Respected Times journalist and author Rick Broadbent said: "The last great race is celebrated in a documentary that brilliantly realises the attraction."
Pete McMurrie, store manager of HMV in Douglas, said: "Closer to the Edge has already become the most pre-ordered title that we have ever had at our store in The Strand, it's going to be huge.
"There are going to be some very happy fans of the TT waking up to a copy on Christmas Day, maybe even a signed copy for the lucky few."
TT3D follows the progress of a number of riders at 2010 TT, with the focus on Guy Martin.
