THE Isle of Man's head of e-Gaming Garth Kimber has stepped down from his position.
He took up the role in 2007 but will be leaving government in December to return to the private sector.
The Department of Economic Development said it has already started the process to recruit and appoint a replacement.
Minister John Shimmin MHK said: "The role is crucial in protecting and promoting one of our fastest growing industries with the e-Gaming sector growing by 24 per cent in 2010.
"Garth Kimber has brought great energy to the position over the past four and a half years and he will leave large shoes to fill.
"However we are confident that as a result of the work he has done the sector is strong and that we will find the right person to build on the success to date."
According to the department the new appointee will continue to promote the industry in conjunction with the private sector in order to attract new business to the Island whilst at the same time ensuring that those already based in the Island have a business environment "optimised for their needs".
