Future of Market Hall up for discussion

by isleofman.com 22nd November 2011

Douglas Borough Council and the Douglas Development Partnership are looking at the use of the Market Hall on North Quay.

They are carrying out a survey of 500 people to assess how effectively the building is used.

Among other things, people are being asked if they know where the market hall is, whether it could be put to better use, and what new facilities would encourage them to regularly visit the building.

Stall holders admit there are frequently vacancies within the hall, but say they are not advertised effectively enough by the council.

The survey started yesterday (Monday).
