Valkyrs hit Vikings for six

The race for the Wi-Manx Mixed Premier Division looks set for a showdown between Valkyrs A and reigning champions Bacchas A.

Both clubs won on Saturday as the battle for the title nears a climax.

Valkyrs A had the result of the day, thrashing title rivals Vikings A 6-2.

Doubles from Steven Lowe and Chris Caldwell, and one each from Greg Miller and Gareth Morris, sealed a comprehensive victory.

Andy Harding and Katie Errock replied for Vikings.

Johnny Callow (two), Jamie Brown and Jenny Vernon-Browne ensured Bacchas overcame the challenge of Celts in a 4-2 success to remain top.

Bacchas B ran out 6-0 winners over Saracens Sabres, thanks to goals from Alex Bell (two), Sean Corlett, Karl Moore, Chris Bass and Tom Wilson.

Mark Moyer, Craig Killey, Chris Killey and Dave Hall netted the goals as Valkyrs B saw off Ramsey A 4-1.
