Schools get into the Children in Need spirit

by isleofman.com 18th November 2011

SCHOOLS in the south of the Island have been getting into the spirit of fund raising for today’s Children in Need campaign.

Castle Rushen High School started their Children in Need events a day early when teachers and students all wore casual clothes, raising more than £1,000 which included money raised from selling cupcakes and chocolates.

Fund raising is happening all over the Isle of Man today for Children in Need, with schools playing a leading role.

This morning, the primary schools in Ballasalla, Phurt le Moirrey and Rushen all saw children turning up in costumes, many in pyjamas, paying £1 each towards the Pudsey Bear funds.

Teachers and school staff also joined in the fun and its expected that considerable sums will be raised during the day’s activities which include sales and cakes and sweets.
