THE Isle of Man is gearing up to take part in the BBC Children in Need appeal tomorrow (Friday).
Schools and businesses across the Island have planned a number of fundraising events to raise money to help disadvantaged children.
Childcare students at the Isle of Man College will be fundraising outside Marks and Spencers and in the Strand Shopping Centre and will also be bag-packing at local supermarkets.
Year two pupils at Auldyn School will be taking part in a 24 hour bowl-a-thon at Sure Strike in Ramsey and will also be making a giant Pudsey Bear out of pennies.
Pupils at Rushen School, St Thomas's and St Ninian's will be holding cake sales and students at Ballakermeen High School will wear pyjamas to school and take part in a sponsored silence.
Children who attend Fairfield School, Bunscoill Ghaelgagh, Braddan School and Ballaquayle School will all be dressing up – many in spotty clothes.
The Department of Social Care is also raising money for Children in Need. Managers from the Children and Families division will compete against staff members to see who can clock up the most miles on an exercise bike.
