Manx motorists are hoping a planned rise in United Kingdom fuel duty in January is scrapped.
Over 100,000 people in the UK have signed an e-petition calling for lower fuel duties, triggering a debate on the matter in the House of Commons.
More than 100 MPs are also supporting the move.
Treasury minister Eddie Teare says a reciprocal agreement between the Isle of Man and the UK means if the 3p increase was put on hold, the same arrangement would apply here.
