Home Affairs Minister Juan Watterson has told Tynwald the development and promotion of opportunities for inmates at the Isle of Man's prison is ongoing.
He was responding to a question from Onchan MHK Zac Hall, who was concerned some prisoners at Jurby were bored and idle.
Mr Hall said many jobs only accounted for an hour a day and prisons needed to become places of education, hard work and industry.
In reply, Mr Watterson outlined some of the activities inmates were involved in at present (listen to audio file below):
Mr Watterson also said officials from his department were meeting staff from the Department of Infrastructure today (Tuesday) to look at other work schemes.
