Approval given for ?785,000 Jurby apartments

by isleofman.com 15th November 2011

JURBY is to have the government investment of £785,000 into building six new apartments on the Bretney Estate.

Tynwald approved the expenditure this morning and received almost unanimous support for the project which was moved by Social Care Minister Chris Robertshaw.

He told the House that the project was necessary for Jurby and that it would contribute to supporting the Island’s construction industry which was going through “difficult times”.

Some minor criticism of building apartments in Jurby was heard from Members, but the idea was accepted widely by Tynwald and approval given.

The project is expected to begin very shortly.
