THE Department of Economic Development has said it has "pulled out all the stops" to make its new visitor guide the best yet.
100,000 copies of the 2012 visitor guide have been published and will be distributed to potential tourists free of charge.
Economic Development Minister John Shimmin MHK explained: "We are delighted to launch this visitor guide which showcases the very best our beautiful Island has to offer.
"Each year we continue to make improvements to the content and again we've pulled out all the stops to make sure that all aspects of the Isle of Man are covered to attract visitors - from our great heritage attractions, unique vintage transport, stunning landscape and adventurous outdoor activities to accommodation, award winning produce and eating establishments.
"I am looking forward to an exciting year for tourism in 2012 and confident that our visitor guide will encourage people to visit the Isle of Man."
The cover image on the new guide is Corrin's Folly in Peel which has been captured by local photographer Andy North.
Geoff Corkish MHK, political member with responsibility for Tourism, said: "I would like to thank our tourism industry partners who share with us their passion and enthusiasm.
"The high standards they achieve make the Isle of Man the quality destination that it is today and makes the 2012 tourism guide a very important selling tool for our visitors - highlighting attractions, year round events and so much more."
The 2012 visitor guide will be distributed through the visitisleofman.com website as well as in the UK and Ireland through various marketing activities undertaken by the department.
Isle of Man residents have also been asked to pick up a copy of the guide from the Welcome Centre at the Sea Terminal and send it to their friends and family to introduce them to the Isle of Man.
