Could a private operator run the Island's buses?

A privately-run bus company has proved successful in the lsle of Wight, so could the same model work here?

That question was raised at the meeting of the passenger group TravelWatch Isle of Man at the weekend.

Guest speaker on Saturday was David Sidebottom, the director of United Kingdom watchdog Passenger Focus.

He was briefed on how a government department ran the Manx public transport network, and told the audience a monopoly private operator was serving the Isle of Wight's bus travellers very well:
