'More passengers needed on London route'

Aer Arann says it's committed to its routes between the Isle of Man and London City and Dublin, for the time being.

Senior commercial executive Peter O'Mara outlined the airline's current outlook at a meeting of the passenger group TravelWatch Isle of Man on Saturday.

He confirmed the company's commitment to its air services from the Island, but warned the London City route was only 'marginally' viable, in business terms.

He said a smaller aircraft now served the route due to the numbers using it.

Mr O'Mara told the meeting increasing passenger numbers was a priority:
