Reigning champions St George's have moved four points clear at the top of the Canada Life Premier League.

That’s after a 5-2 win over title rivals Old Boys at Glencrutchery Road.

A hat-trick from Callum Morrissey and one each from Chris Bass and Frank Jones fired an ominous warning to other teams hoping to challenge for the title.

Old Boys kept in the hunt with Craig Stewart and Martin King goals but the Geordies’ strength was evident.

Rushen’s hoodoo over Peel continued as the 2010 champions trounced the westerners 4-0 on their own turf.

Josh Kelly (two), Aaron Hawley and Steven Riding sealed a comprehensive victory in the ‘old firm’ clash.

Three first half goals sealed three points for chasers St Mary’s as they won 3-1 at Castletown to move up to second and seal a Railway Cup semi-final spot.

Martin Reilly (two) and Steve Priestnal were on target for the Saints before Kevin Cain pulled Town a goal back after the break.

It looks like being a long, hard winter for Ayre.

They remain rock bottom after losing 4-1 at Ramsey Youth Centre in the relegation ‘six-pointer’.

Former Ayre striker Jason Craine gave Youth Centre an early lead before Mark Cain headed the Tangerines level midway through the first half.

Shaun Kelly restored the home side’s lead before the interval and further goals from Craine and Daniel Tate secured all three points to move Youth Centre out of the drop zone.
