THE political members within the Department of Community, Culture and Leisure have been assigned their individual areas of responsibility.

Laurence Skelly MHK will take responsibility for community, culture and the arts and will also become the chair of the Isle of Man Arts Council.

Juan Turner MLC will take responsibility for sport, the Wildlife Park, Manx National Heritage and the Customer First project. 

Department Minister Tim Crookall MHK will take responsibility for public transport and the Villa Marina and Gaiety Theatre.

He said: "I am delighted to welcome Mr Skelly and Mr Turner to the Department of Community, Culture and Leisure and I am greatly looking forward to working with them to deliver excellent services to the people of the Isle of Man.
 
"Services provided by my department make a significant contribution to the quality of life we all enjoy."

The Department of Community, Culture and Leisure promotes and facilities leisure, arts, recreation and sporting activity in the Island.

It also has responsibility for managing the Island's major entertainment facilities and for the provision of bus and heritage railway services.
