Two minutes silence to be observed tomorrow

A TWO minutes silence to remember all those who have died in the service of their country will be observed in the Isle of Man tomorrow (Friday).

 

This will be observed at 11am and the full cooperation of the public in the observance of the silence is requested.

 

Motorists have also been asked to observe the silence between 11am and 11.02am and stop their engines during the periods of silence.

 

A two minutes silence will also be observed at 11am on Sunday, November 13.

 

On both days local authorities have been requested to make arrangements in their respective districts to give warning of the precise moment at which the silence will begin and end.

 

The Isle of Man's national service of remembrance will be held at the Royal Chapel of St Johns at 3pm on Sunday.

 

His Excellency the Lieutenant Governor and the Chief Minister will be in attendance. Members of the public who wish to attend are asked to be seated in the church by 2.45pm.
