By-election in Ramsey today

by isleofman.com 10th November 2011

Two candidates are contesting a vacant seat on the board of Ramsey Commissioners today (Thursday).

IT consultant Steve Bevan and retailer Stephen Rand are bidding for the seat in the town's South Ward.

The vacancy arose after former commissioner Leonard Singer was elected to the House of Keys in September.

The polling station at Ramsey Town Hall is open for twelve hours until 8pm.

The successful candidate will serve until April next year, when there is a local authority general election.
