Five star hotel and casino complex - further information published for interested parties

by isleofman.com 8th November 2011

THE Department of Economic Development has published further information for parties interested in establishing the first five star hotel and casino complex in the Island.

In September the government announced it was seeking expressions of interest from individuals and interested parties who are keen to work with the Manx Government to establish such a complex.

Now the department has prepared supporting information regarding the opportunity which is available on request.

Economic Development Minister John Shimmin MHK said: "The Isle of Man is an excellent location for a high quality hotel resort and casino complex due to its good transportation links with the UK, excellent lifestyle and a wide range of outdoor activities including nine golf courses.

"A new resort would be a welcome addition to our already successful visitor attractions and will add to the Island's development.

"I am delighted that this project is progressing well and anticipate good levels of interest in this unique opportunity to develop a hotel and resort complex in the Isle of Man."

Anyone interested in this opportunity should contact Tim Craine, the director of the Business Development Agency, by calling 01624 686395 or by e-mail tim.craine@gov.im.

Expressions of interest will be assessed and invitations to tender formally will follow. Tenders that are submitted will be considered by the Department of Economic Development who will be liasing with Global Betting and Gaming Consultants (CBGC) and the Isle of Man’s Gambling Supervision Commission.
