by isleofman.com 8th November 2011

THE Island's Lieutenant Governor has been brought up to speed on the work that Manx Gas is carrying out to convert homeowners to natural gas.

Adam Wood visited Manx Gas headquarters to find out more about the Natural Gas Extension Project and the other work the company does in the Isle of Man.

Tony Nicholls, managing director of Manx Gas, explained: "The visit enabled us to introduce him to the team and update him on the Natural Gas Extension Project which has seen 6,000 properties surveyed in readiness for conversion to natural gas early next year and involved the laying of more than three kilometres of outlet pipework in customers' homes."

Mr Wood also had the chance to view the Manx Gas sponsored Honda Fireblade 1000cc which was last ridden in the 2007 TT and is owned by three times TT winner Klaus Klaffenbock.

Mr Nicholls continued: "The Lieutenant Governor was interested to hear about the active involvement of Manx Gas in the TT over the past six years and also our other sponsorship activities including the Isle of Man Food and Drink Festival."
