THE deadline is approaching for members of the public to become involved with a number of organisations.
The Council of Ministers is seeking to appoint lay members to the Appointments Commission, the Isle of Man Government Preservation of War Memorials Committee, the Health Services Independent Review Body and the Manx Heritage Foundation.
Applications for the five-year appointments close at 5pm on Monday, November 28.
People from all backgrounds and walks of life are urged to apply.
These are being classed as the second phase of public appointments and the initial phase of public appointments, which closed at the end of October, attracted a strong level of interest from people keen to take a role in the operation and delivery of a number of essential services.
Chief Minister Allan Bell MHK said: "We are fortunate to have a huge wealth of talent in the Isle of Man and I would encourage more people to come forward and get involved.
"I see these public appointments as an excellent opportunity for government to work with community spirited individuals and utilise their skills, energy and contacts for the benefit of the Isle of Man and its people."
While not involved in the day-to-day running of an organisation, public appointees are required to give an ongoing commitment in terms of their time, interest and attention.
Demands vary according to the post, from attending a few board meetings each year to more substantial duties.
