Charity fund raising in memory of Dru

by isleofman.com 7th November 2011

An endowment fund set up in memory of a popular Santon woman raised ?3,000 at a dinner in her memory.

The White Rose charity supports a number of charities and individuals in memory of Dru Hamm, herself a tireless worker for worthy causes.

Dru died in November 2009 when she was hit by a vehicle, near the Hop Garden pub on the new Castletown Road.

But work in her memory goes on and fundraising has already reaped dividends ahead of next year's dinner.

Dru, who was a chartered certified accountant, was born with cerebral palsy, but lived life to the full and won public admiration when she reached Santon in the 2009 Parish Walk.
