Island fishermen should be respected

The Island’s Fisheries Minister says it’s time to get tough on fishing regulations.

Phil Gawne says he’s delighted plans - to ban vessels longer than 15 metres from scallop fishing in the Irish Sea - have been overturned until at least Christmas.

But he says it’s now time for further talks with the UK government to ensure Manx fishermen are given full respect in territorial waters.
