The president of Tynwald has sent her congratulations to the president elect of Ireland, Michael D Higgins.
Mr Higgins will become the country's ninth president when he is sworn in on November 11.
In a special message, Clare Christian highlights the many shared historic and cultural ties between the Isle of Man and Ireland.
