by isleofman.com 3rd November 2011

A fifth candidate has come forward to declare for the commissioners' by-election in Onchan.

Kathryn Williams, 31, from Ballachrink Drive in the village, is the only woman in the race.

Ms Williams has worked as a Disability Awareness Trainer and served on the Management Committee of the Manx Foundation for the Physically Disabled.

She's also a member of St Ninian's Church, where she works with the Youth Group, and is a passionate cricket fan!

Ms Williams says she wants to see people from a wider span of society elected to the commissioners (listen to audio file below):

Polling Day is Wednesday, November 16 and the other candidates are Rob Callister, James Corrin, John Quaye and Robin Turton.
