MANX Telecom has appointed Stuart Paul as its new Data Centre Director with a remit to expand the company’s hosting business both on and off-Island.
He has a wealth of knowledge and experience as an operations director and has delivered data centre hosting support services to the private sector and government.
“I’m delighted to be joining Manx Telecom at what is a very exciting time for the company,” he said.
“The growth of our hosting services has exceeded expectations in recent months and there are tremendous opportunities to expand the business even further in the e-gaming, finance and insurance sectors.”
Before joining Manx Telecom, Stuart Paul was hosting operations director at Iomart plc, a post he took up in 2007. He was responsible for bringing four new data centres into service in the UK. He also worked as a consultant for Company-I and he was Head of Data Centre Services at Cable & Wireless from 2000 to 2007.
Prior to this Stuart was Head of Facilities at Merita Nordbanken for four years and was responsible for the bank’s disaster recovery plans. He is a member of the British Computer Society and has served on the organisation’s data centre steering group committee advising on data centre facilities and infrastructure best practice. He is also a member of the British Institute of Facilities Management.
Mike Dee, Manx Telecom CEO, said, “We operate the Island’s only purpose-built Data Centre and it provides business continuity, managed hosting services, and full e-commerce platforms to on and off-Island companies in a range of sectors including government, banking and e-gaming.
“It’s an important area of our business and Stuart has the experience and expertise that will enable him to make a valuable contribution to the expansion of our Data Centre operations.”
