Rise in bicycles stolen from underground car parks

by isleofman.com 3rd November 2011

A NUMBER of bicycles have been stolen from underground car parks in Douglas.

The bikes, which range in value, have been taken over the last two months from the Spectrum, Century Court and Millennium Court apartments on Douglas Promenade.

A police spokesperson said: "In each case the thieves have gained access through locked security gates and then managed to remove combination locks that have been used to secure the bicycles to the fabric of the building."

Police have asked people to check that their bikes are secured and that the lock fitted is of sufficient quality to prevent this type of crime taking place.

If anyone has information on this matter please contact PC McLean at Police Headquarters on 01624 631212.
