Conciliation next, as pay freeze is rejected

There is unhappiness among the Isle of Man's 2,500 public sector manual workers, over the prospect of a pay freeze for the 2010 to 2011 financial year.

In a ballot, well over 1,300 workers rejected a zero per cent pay offer, with 86 - around six per cent of those polled - voting in favour. There were 24 spoilt papers.
