AGE Concern Isle of Man is looking for a new 'home' for the CHAT (Community, Help, Advice and Training) bus after Protours Isle of Man which has provided secure parking for the vehicle since its launch in April 2010, announced it is to close at the end of the year.
The charity's chief executive George Quayle said: "We have been indebted to Protours' support of the CHAT bus from day one.
"The company not only generously provided the vehicle at a heavily discounted price but also agreed to garage it free of charge and maintain it at cost.
"We are therefore saddened that economic circumstances dictate that Protours cease trading at the end of 2011 and we will always value the outstanding contribution the company made in helping Age Concern reach out to communities across the Island.
"We are now seeking offers of an alternative secure parking space with access to electricity for charging the vehicle's batteries in order that the CHAT bus may be able to continue serving its many valuable roles in the community."
Offers of a parking space should be directed to Age Concern Isle of Man, 19 Drinkwater Street, Douglas. Telephone 01624 631740 or e-mail: margaret.patrick@ageconcerniom.com.
