'Open mind' over Sarah's Law

by isleofman.com 1st November 2011

The new Home Affairs Minister says he has an ‘open mind’ over proposals to introduce Sarah's Law in the Isle of Man.

Juan Watterson plans to reconvene a working group – set up by his predecessor Adrian Earnshaw and chaired by former MHK Bill Malarkey - to consider the measure, which allows parents to see if anyone convicted of a sex offence has access to their children.

Mr Watterson, replying to a question from MHK Bill Henderson, says it’s important to hear the views of campaign organisers, the police, prison and probation services.
