THE Strand Shopping Centre in Douglas will play host to a Christmas market in aid of the local charity Crossroads Caring for Carers from Thursday.
The market will host a variety of specialist stalls, which will change on a daily basis, to help members of the public find the perfect Christmas present.
A range of products will be on sale including designer cakes, original artwork, bespoke jewellery, stocking fillers and fresh wreaths.
A number of local suppliers including The Individual Cake Company, Bohosky, Island Sheepkins, My Chocolate Explosion, AJ Jewelley, Angie’s Glassworks, Minx Tales and ArtworkX of Mann will exhibit.
Crossroads Caring for Carers will be selling charity Christmas cards, which feature the designs of local artists Jenny Kissack and Felicity Wood, and Christmas puddings.
Oxfam and the Joey Dunlop Foundation will also be in attendance at the market.
There will also be a number of Christmas workshops including gingerbread house making and wreath making at the market which will also be frequented by by carol singers, pantomime characters and Father Christmas himself.
A Christmas postbox will also be housed at the market to collect entries for the Crossroads’ Christmas card competition.
School children are encouraged to post their design into the box to see if it could become the charity’s Christmas card for 2012.
Entries can be any size but must be posted into the box by Sunday, December 18. Please include the child’s name, age, school and a contact telephone number.
The Crossroads Caring for Carers Christmas Market will open on Thursday, November 4. It will then be open from Thursday until Sunday every week up to Christmas.
