Hop Tu Naa at Cregneash - picture special

by isleofman.com 31st October 2011

HUNDREDS of Isle of Man children and parents will be well prepared for tonight’s Hop Tu Naa parties around the Island following a day of learning how to make turnip lanterns at Cregneash.

Manx National Heritage staged a day of cutting, carving and designing turnip lanterns at the Cregneash village - and it was a major success.

Throughout the day hundreds of families took the journey to Cregneash to enjoy the lantern workshop staged in the farm’s barn, together with traditional farming displays, a farmer’s market and catering.

The event was staged in association with radio station 3FM who spent the day at Cregneash and broadcast live interviews throughout the day.

Our photographs taken yesterday show the atmosphere of the weekend.
