Douglas B in Shield shocker

by isleofman.com 29th October 2011

Douglas B set the cat amongst the pigeons when they beat Shimmin Wilson Manx Shield leaders Southern Nomads 20-7 at Port-e-Chee.

New dad Niall Killey picked up two tries for Douglas and there were also tries from Mike Hebden and Liam Murphy.

All Nomads’ points came from Dave Caldwell, courtesy of a try and conversion.

Douglas now move into second place with a game in hand.

Ramsey B’s hopes of capitalising on a Nomads mistake were dashed when they crashed to a 58-3 defeat away at Vagabonds B.

Sam Liver was the star for Vagas with a hat-trick and there were also tries from Pete Faragher, Rob Martin, Ryan Pope, Joe Louw, Floris Venter, Ben Sharples and Jack Lemon.

Jonny Beckley added four conversions.
