It has been confirmed the main race day at next year's North West 200 will be Saturday, May 19, and a period of consulatation on proposed changes to practice and extra races is now under way.

The plan is to close roads around the Triangle Course between 9.30am and 2.30pm on Tuesday and Thursday, May 15 and 17.

If the plan is approved, the roads will close again on the Thursday evening between 5.30pm and 9pm for two new races, an extra Superstock event and a new Supertwin class.

The Saturday programme will feature two Superbike, two Supersport and a Superstock race.

Local people have until Tuesday, November 15 to respond to the proposed changes.
