A bridge too far for planning committee!

The Isle of Man branch of the Campaign for Real Ale is claiming victory, after planners turned down proposals to turn a public house in Laxey into flats.

Grove Properties has withdrawn an appeal, which means the Bridge Inn will stay a pub.

The planning committee said the conversion of the Bridge would have meant losing a facility of benefit to Laxey and the wider community.

Angela Aspin of CAMRA's Isle of Man branch says the group will continue to fight for the Island's pubs:
