THE Island's Health Minister has admitted that the waiting lists for NHS patients at Noble's Hospital are "not very clear" and "inaccurate in some areas".
David Anderson MHK said a number of validation exercises need to be carried out to ensure the waiting list data is accurate and "fit for purpose".
He was responding to a question posed by Ramsey MHK Leonard Singer in the House of Keys yesterday (Tuesday).
Mr Singer asked the minister if he would publish each month the time delay for NHS appointments and operations in all specialities at Noble's Hospital.
Mr Anderson said while this was a "long-time aim" of the Department of Health it was not something that could be done at the present time.
He explained: "A number of validation exercises need to be carried out to ensure the waiting list data is accurate and fit for purpose.
"At the same time we are upgrading our existing reporting system which is currently in the process of being tested.
"The introduction of any new reporting system is always a time consuming process and it is vital that we spend the appropriate amount of time quality assurance testing this upgrade.
"This combination of ongoing work means that we will not be able to publish any waiting list data until the New Year at the earliest."
