THE Isle of Man version of the popular board game Monopoly will be officially unveiled today (Wednesday).
Winning Moves UK, the company who have made the game, will visit the Island this morning to reveal the new look edition to the media.
Mark Hauser and Natasha Malik from the company will unveil a five foot by five foot replica board at The Sefton Hotel - one of the landmarks which has made it on to the board.
Paul Forrest, the Sefton Group hotels manager, said: "What a wonderful honour for us to host the official launch. We feel it's appropriate to be rolling out our red carpet which is only ever reserved for very special occasions."
The Isle of Man version of Monopoly has been put together largely based on public votes after a poll in May .
The full line up of the game has not yet been released but it will include Laxey Wheel, Fairy Bridge, the TT Grandstand and Peel Castle amongst the places replacing famous London landmarks.
People who represent each of the landmarks that have made it onto the board have also been invited to a special event this afternoon to see the game for the first time.
Mark Hauser, Winning Moves Licensing director, said: "We would like to formally thank the Isle of Man public for all its wonderful input. Without these suggestions this board could not have been produced."
Geoff Corkish MHK, political member for the Department of Economic Development, added: "We are incredibly proud of the Isle of Man as an island and to see it immortalised in its very own official version of Monopoly is wonderful."
The game is on sale today from Amazon, HMV, Play, Shop Direct, Tesco, Waterstones, WH Smith and toy and book stores.
