Poppy Appeal to be launched on Saturday

THE Royal British Legion will launch this year's Poppy Appeal campaign at the Strand Centre in Douglas on Saturday.

 

Speaker of the House of Keys Steve Rodan MHK will perform the official opening ceremony at 2pm.

 

Army cadets will be selling poppies in the Strand Centre and in Strand Street and the public has been asked to give generously.


This year is the 90th anniversary of the Royal British Legion and the Isle of Man will mark the 11/11/11 anniversary with a concert at the Villa Marina.


Tickets for the rememberance concert and service, which will take place at 7.30pm, are available by telephoning 01624 600555 or visiting www.villagaiety.com. Tickets cost £10.
