by isleofman.com 24th October 2011

MANX Gas will close a stretch of Windsor Road in Douglas today to enable engineers to replace up to 75 metres of old gas mains.

The road will be closed from its junction with Woodbourne Road until Friday, November 4.

Robert Gardner, Manx Gas engineering manager, explained: "The closure will be down as a far as number 11 Windsor Road. Traffic will however be allowed up from the museum direction but there will be no access down towards the museum.

"This is essential work involving the replacement of old mains.  We will endeavour to keep the inconvenience to a minimum and hope to finish the work ahead of schedule."
