Body and Mind pink day today

by isleofman.com 24th October 2011

A LADIES only fitness centre is having a pink day today (Monday) to raise money for Breakthrough Breast Cancer.

Between 9am and 2pm Body and Mind will be hosting fun exercise classes, a fun run along Douglas Promenade and a competition to win a brand new pair of trainers from Up and Running.

Jane Preston, who runs Body and Mind, explained: "We decided to have our pink day in aid of Breakthrough Breast Cancer and hope to raise as much money as possible for this charity.

"It means a lot to our members for a variety of reasons - we are all ladies and we are all aware how important this particular charity is to women."

Ladies who take part in the fun run can choose how far they run, from one kilometre to five, with the only requirement being that they must wear pink.

There will also be pink refreshments including pink cookies and cakes.

Jane continued: "The event is open to all members and non-members. The fitness classes are open to ladies but we have a promenade run which anyone can join in."

The Body and Mind pink day will take place on Monday, October 24, at the fitness centre which is situated on Loch Promenade. A donation of £2 is requested to take part in each activity.
