More on scrapping of media partner plan

The Department of Community, Culture and Leisure has expanded on its reasons for not appointing a media partner for the Villa Marina.

On Friday it said, for the idea to have gone ahead, it would have needed a large cash payment, or to have been confident the partnership would lead to a big increase in ticket sales.

Cheif executive Nick Black says non of the submissions received did enough to convince the department there would be sufficient benefit to the venue, or the taxpayer, to take the matter further:
