Working out future liabilities

The age of Island residents, not population growth, is the key factor for the Isle of Man when it comes to the public sector pension burden.

That's according to Chief Minister Allan Bell, who says one of the biggest challenges will be how to care for people who're living much longer on average, and the impact that has not just on pensions, but health and social care as well.

Mr Bell says it's difficult to know exactly how things will pan out, but adds government will be doing its best to work out future liabilities:
