Marown fight back to extend lead

by isleofman.com 22nd October 2011

It’s 11 wins out of 11 for Marown in JCK Division Two.

That’s after the leaders won 5-1 at Foxdale in the western derby to move six points clear at the top.

Alex McQuarrie, Michael McHale, Richard Mulhearn, Ryan Holdaway and an own goal fired them to victory after Foxdale had led 1-0 at the break through Liam Leece.

With second placed Union Mills not in action, Onchan moved to within three points as they won by the same scoreline at Malew.

A hat-trick from Bulgarian Brago Smilyanovic and one apiece from Dominic Dawson and Craig Marsh did the damage.

Dan Thirlwell scored for the home side.

Douglas Royal suffered a blow as they were edged out in a nine goal thriller at Braddan.

Michael are up to sixth after hitting Douglas and District for six.

Kevin Pulman, Antony Corkill, Paul Corlett, Peter Fisher, Jason Chatwood and Dean Wales – returning from a serious injury - were all on the scoresheet with Adam Rosevear scoring for D&D, who were level at 1-1 at the break.

Colby leapfrogged Pulrose thanks to a 1-0 success at Springfield Road – Ricky Kniveton the scorer – while bottom club Ronaldsway pushed Police hard before going down 3-2.

Rob Bell and Jordan Edge scored for the battling Rockets.
