Doubts remain over cash for children

Speaker of the House of Keys Steve Rodan says he still isn't sure whether the Department of Social Care really needs almost half a million pounds to help fund services for children.

In Tynwald this week he asked for a breakdown of children's cases referred to the department, after claims its workload had drastically increased.

He says although figures show the number of cases reported has gone up, the number of youngsters who need protection plans hasn't increased at anything like the same rate.

Mr Rodan says he will continue asking questions because he still has doubts:
