MANX Gas has said it has restored the gas supply in Lonan to 90 per cent of its customers.
Last night at around 10.15pm the mains gas supply in the area stopped due to a problem at a gas storage site.
Engineers worked throughout the night to try and rectify the problem.
Robert Gardner, director and engineering manger for Manx Gas, said: "The process of restoring gas supplies to 96 of our customers is progressing extremely well. We have restored 90 per cent of the customers and we anticipate completion of the work by this evening.
"I would like to thank our customers for their patience and support during the incident as it has allowed us to bring the incident to a very fast and safe conclusion. Actions will be put in place to prevent a recurrence."
