Expert gives verdict on economic prospects

The Manx economy has weathered the worldwide economic downturn well, but could stil be in for a rough ride.

That's the verdict from a leading economist who has been outlining the prospects for the global economy to bankers in the Isle of Man.

Goolam Ballim is group chief economist and global head of research for Standard Bank.

At a presentaiton on investment, he told the Isle of Man Bankers Association the Island was not immune from the ravages of recession elsewhere:
