Iranians added to government sanctions list

by isleofman.com 19th October 2011

The Isle of Man Financial Supervision Commission has added five Iranians to its list of designated people facing sanctions.

The new names fall under the United Kingdom's Terrorist Asset-Freezing Act, as it applies on the Island, and financial institutions have been asked to check whether they have any dealings with the five men.

They are 50-year-old Hamed Abdollahi, 56-year-old Manssor Arbabsiar, Abdul Reza Shahlai, Ali Gholam Shakuri and Commander of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps Major General Qasem Soleimani, who is accused of providing equipment to help the regime in Syria suppress protests.

Further information is available from the customs and excise pages at gov.im, the Manx government's website.
