Chief Minister Allan Bell says he is looking forward to an early Christmas present from European finance ministers after Tynwald voted to get rid of a controversial tax measure.
The Attribution Regime for Individuals, which European countries claimed gave the Island a harmful tax system, was killed off by the court yesterday (Tuesday) in a unanimous vote.
Mr Bell says the ECOFIN group will meet in December, and he is looking forward to their verdict now the last hurdle has been removed.
He says it was a decision which should boost confidence in the Isle of Man's finance sector:
